COMMON QUESTIONS

Fund Placement Questions

What does a fund placement adviser do?

A fund placement adviser helps a manager prepare its fundraising proposition, identify prospective limited partners and manage investor engagement. The mandate can cover positioning, marketing materials, due diligence coordination and support through closing.

Can ENEA work alongside an internal fundraising team?

Yes. The mandate can focus on selected regions, investor groups or stages of the process. Relationship ownership, exclusions, campaign responsibilities and reporting are agreed at the outset.

Do you consider first-time funds?

We consider emerging managers with relevant investment experience and a clearly defined strategy. The assessment focuses on track record attribution, team cohesion, the pipeline and the proposed fund structure.

Which LPs are relevant to my strategy?

Investor selection depends on allocation appetite, fund size, expected commitment, geography, structure and decision process. Institutional investors, family offices and strategic capital partners are assessed for relevance to each mandate.

What should I share before an introductory discussion?

A short strategy overview, target fund size or capital requirement, team background, attributable track record, fundraising status and expected timetable. Detailed confidential materials can follow after the information-sharing approach is agreed.

How are scope and fees agreed?

The scope, responsibilities, investor coverage, exclusions and commercial terms are discussed after the initial assessment and documented in the engagement. They depend on the work required and the proposed capital process.

Does appointing an adviser guarantee a fundraise?

No. Investor commitments depend on the investment proposition, diligence, market conditions and each LP’s decision. The adviser supports the process; the final investment decision remains with the investor.
